Nine Weeks Before the Baby Shower

A Baby Shower Timeline to Simplify Your Shower Planning
© baby-shower.com

See?  Week 10 wasn’t too difficult, but imagine if you had to do all of that with only a few weeks to go before the big day.  My nerves would have been shot and I probably would have missed a few steps resulting in me spending a bit more than I wanted to and also not having all the stuff I needed.

Week 9 is a bit easier, trust me, and it will go by quickly enough.  At this point the baby is getting bigger and so are your plans.  You should have your theme planned out and you should have a strong idea of what your budget will be.

Now is the time to start working towards the guest list but don’t worry if you don’t get it done completely because you have about 3 weeks to smooth it out.  Start chasing people for their list of guests.  If the expectant mother knows about the shower, get the list straight from her but don’t forget to ask the grandmothers who they want to invite.  If it is done in secret, ask the expectant father and all the important members of the event.

Things you need to do:

Start getting those guest lists.  Some people will need to be reminded to gather theirs and don’t forget to ask them for the important information such as mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses.  Remember to specifically ask for last names because many people will often forget to give them to you.  Nothing is more annoying than trying to address 30 envelopes with first names only.

Start pricing out decorations, prizes and gift bags.  Don’t commit to anything now unless you definitely know you want it, but knowing how much everything costs will give you a better idea of where you will need to cut costs.
